Terms & Conditions

Ember is provided by FaithCardsCo Ministries, Inc. ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or continuing to use Ember, you agree to these terms and form an agreement with FaithCardsCo Ministries, Inc.. If you are using Ember on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it; otherwise you confirm you are of legal age in your country.

What Ember is

Ember is a guided 15-minute nightly ritual for couples, with conversation prompts, an optional prayer step, a private journal, a shared chat, and related connection tools. Ember is not therapy, counselling, medical or spiritual advice, and it is not a substitute for professional help. If you or your partner are in crisis or at risk of harm, contact local emergency services.

Your account

You must give accurate information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for everything that happens under your account. Invite codes pair two accounts into a couple; share yours only with your partner.

Acceptable use

You must not misuse Ember. In particular, you must not:

• use Ember for anything unlawful, abusive, harassing or threatening;
• commit fraud, send spam, or impersonate anyone;
• infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy rights;
• interfere with the security of the service — no malware, probing, scraping, reverse engineering, or circumventing technical limits;
• resell, redistribute or share paid access outside your couple.

Your content and AI features

Your journal entries, messages, prayers and recordings remain yours. You grant FaithCardsCo Ministries, Inc. a limited licence to host and process that content solely to provide the service to you and your partner.

Some features (such as "Soften this message" and voice-to-text) use automated AI processing. You are responsible for what you write and record, for having the right to submit it, and for reviewing any suggested rewrite before you send it. AI output can be inaccurate or inappropriate and must not be relied on as professional advice. We may filter, refuse or remove content, and we may suspend accounts for repeated or serious violations. If you believe content infringes your rights, contact us and we will review and remove it where appropriate.

Intellectual property

FaithCardsCo Ministries, Inc. retains all ownership of Ember, including its software, prompt decks, written content and branding. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Ember within the plan you have chosen.

Service level

We work to keep Ember available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

Payments and subscriptions

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Payment, billing, taxes, renewals, cancellations and refunds are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms together with our Refund Policy. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. One Ember Together subscription covers both partners in a couple; Ember Forever is a single one-time payment with nothing to renew.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. You may stop using Ember at any time. When access ends you can request an export of your content within 30 days, after which it may be deleted.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim, and we exclude indirect, consequential or special damages including loss of profits, data or goodwill. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury where the law does not allow it. You indemnify us against claims arising from your content, your unlawful use, or your breach of these terms.

General

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which FaithCardsCo Ministries, Inc. is established, and disputes will be heard by its courts. You may not assign this agreement without our consent; we may assign it as part of a merger or acquisition. Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control. We may update these terms and will change the date above when we do.
